Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) was established in 1992 as an Industrial Training Institute by eminent educationist and social reformer Prof. Achyuta Samanta in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. It launched degree engineering programmes in 1997 and was granted Deemed-to-be University status under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, in 2004. Today, KIIT functions as a multidisciplinary university township across numerous campuses named after Indian rivers. The university comprises multiple constituent schools offering undergraduate, postgraduate, dual-degree, and doctoral programmes across engineering, computer applications, management, law, biotechnology, medical sciences (KIMS), dental sciences, nursing, public health, architecture, film and media, humanities, and social sciences.
