The Bachelor of Dental Surgery [BDS] is a standard five-year undergraduate professional healthcare program conducted via full-time offline instruction, incorporating four years of didactic study alongside a mandatory one-year rotating clinical internship. The academic curriculum covers dental anatomy, oral pathology, pharmacology, prosthodontics, periodontics, orthodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and conservative dentistry. Through preclinical laboratories and supervised patient consultations, candidates develop diagnostic acumen, surgical proficiency, and clinical treatment techniques for oral health conditions. Graduates are equipped for dental practice, clinical consultancies in hospital healthcare networks, public oral health administration, or progression into specialized postgraduate dental surgery disciplines.
