About University
The Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), formerly known as the University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT) of the University of Mumbai, was founded on October 1, 1933. Established to train professionals and drive research for India's burgeoning chemical and textile industries, it received full autonomy in 2004 and was granted Deemed-to-be-University status under Section 3 of the UGC Act in 2008 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, making it a state-funded deemed university. In 2018, the UGC and MHRD conferred Category-I Deemed University status with Graded Autonomy upon ICT, leading to the establishment of off-campus centres at Bhubaneswar (ICT-IOC Odisha Campus) and Jalna (ICT Marathwada Campus).
