The Bachelor of Dental Surgery is a standard five-year undergraduate healthcare program conducted via offline study, which includes four years of classroom instruction and preclinical training alongside a mandatory one-year rotating clinical internship. The core curriculum covers essential medical and dental sciences such as human anatomy, oral pathology, conservative dentistry, periodontology, orthodontics, prosthodontics, and oral and maxillofacial surgery. Through supervised clinical postings and patient treatments, students develop diagnostic competence, manual dexterity, and comprehensive operative skills. Graduates can practice as general dental surgeons in hospitals, dental clinics, and public healthcare setups, or pursue specialized post-graduation degrees and clinical research.
