The Bachelor of Dental Surgery [BDS] is an undergraduate professional dental program delivered through offline academic and clinical training. Spanning five years, including a compulsory one-year rotatory internship, the curriculum integrates essential biomedical sciences with comprehensive dental disciplines. Students study human anatomy, physiology, oral pathology, pharmacology, conservative dentistry, periodontics, orthodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and prosthodontics. Extensive preclinical laboratory exercises and chairside patient management cultivate vital diagnostic, operative, and patient-care capabilities. Graduates obtain the mandatory qualification to register as licensed dental practitioners, enabling careers in clinical dental practice, hospital departments, public dental health, or further pursuit of postgraduate specialisations.
